FROM ANXIETY TO EASE
Therapy designed for lawyers
Feel calmer, think more clearly, regain your confidence
Feel calmer, think more clearly, regain your confidence
Our team of therapists gets the world of lawyering no matter the area of practice. Lawyers don’t have to explain the unique aspects of their lives to us. We've provided counselling to over 900 lawyers struggling with professional and personal challenges. As such, we can get on with the work of helping you feel better ASAP. We know you're busy, our intake and booking process is easy and quick.

You may appear to be managing everything on the surface, while internally feeling exhausted, disconnected, overwhelmed, or trapped in cycles of rumination, and self-doubt. You may push through stress until you hit burnout, oscillating between over-functioning and procrastination, unsure how to slow down without feeling guilty or unsafe. You may question whether taking a leave would be helpful.

You may hold yourself to exceptionally high standards but you rarely feel like you’re enough. You may find yourself repeatedly reviewing emails, work products, or social interactions, worrying about mistakes, second-guessing yourself, or feeling unable to switch off. However, you work in a profession where perfectionism is rewarded so it’s hard to do something different.

The cost of always being “on” can be high. You may struggle with a mind that never seems to switch off, even when you’re exhausted. You may find yourself overthinking, ruminating, anticipating worst-case scenarios, or feeling constantly tense. You may have difficulty relaxing or falling or staying asleep.

You may feel exhausted, irritable, have difficulty focusing, and be losing motivation. The pressure to keep performing at a high level can make it difficult to recognize how much you’ve been struggling. From the outside, you may appear capable and composed, while privately second-guessing yourself.

Your identity, self worth, and confidence are often closely tied to your work and achievements. You may find yourself questioning whether your current path is sustainable or fulfilling. You may feel pressure to keep up even during major life transitions. You may have reached a point where your usual strategies, pushing harder, staying busy, or thinking things through alone have stopped working.

High pressure environments can intensify attachment patterns such as people-pleasing, fear of conflict, fear of abandonment, difficulty trusting others, and feeling responsible for everyone else’s needs. Or, you may find yourself emotionally exhausted, withdrawn, overly independent, reactive under stress, or struggling to be fully present with the people closest to you. Over time, this can lead to disconnection, resentment, loneliness, or recurring relationship challenges

Therapy for lawyers is counselling designed to address personal challenges that are compounded by the unique demands of legal practice, including burnout, anxiety, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, workplace conflict, and work-life balance challenges.
Our approach focuses on meaningful change that can happen within the therapy process itself, rather than adding more tasks or strategies to an already demanding to-do list.
Our practice has been supporting lawyers and legal professionals for ten years and is among Canada's most established counselling practices focused on lawyer mental health. We have worked with lawyers at every stage of their careers, from law students, both junior and senior associates, to partners, in-house counsel, lawyers in government and legal leaders.
Lawyers often work in high stress environments where everyone around them is often stressed also. This can make it challenging to get helpful feedback, receive support and set boundaries. No matter the practice area, lawyers often are faced with high levels of individual responsibility and little to no margin for mistakes. If you're in a firm that has billable hours and targets, this can add additional performance pressure and the expectation to be essentially "on call".
Lawyers frequently seek support for elevated anxiety, depression, burnout, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, stress, relationship difficulties, and career dissatisfaction.
