During this six week course, you will learn about the paradox of anxiety - how approaching our anxiety gently is actually the key to calming it. You will come to see how anxiety is an understandable and appropriate experience while still finding freedom from anxiety. We will be guiding you through short practices to provide relief that over time can become a way of life or habitual response to anxiety and discomfort. Finally, you will learn to trust your innate ability to handle life and expand beyond just "surviving", recognizing that this is what it means to be truly resilient. You will have lifetime access to this course.
This course is available to you over a six week period so that you may integrate our approach week by week while also experiencing lasting change in a short period. Each week, you will access a combination of brief videos, guided audio practices, and content summaries. The content will be permanently available to you beyond the six weeks.
Melanie Banka Goela and Ellen Schlesinger are lawyers turned psychotherapists who met in 2015 while working as wellness counsellors at Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto. They are the co-founders of From Anxiety to Ease, a mental health practice in Toronto that specializes in lawyer mental health. They value facilitating reflection, curiosity, conversation and experiential activities with participants, while ensuring a space that supports diversity, equity and inclusion.
"The five minute video modules are particularly helpful for busy lawyers (and busy other people) to have bite-size strategies that can be quickly and easily accessed in moments of need. I've watched other courses/programs on anxiety and meditation and while they often make helpful points, I never complete them or engage the strategies because I can't find the time." Alissa C., lawyer
"You said so many things that resonated with me (I took notes lol) which is so validating, and your overall compassionate, soothing natures create a true sense of support. It felt as if you were walking alongside me in each module, and this sense of support and "rooting" for me, helps me to internalize that and feel that way towards myself."
"Melanie and Ellen are cornerstones of calm. They immediately remind me that more than anxiety is possible for me." VS, lawyer
"My self critical voice has now been replaced with a gentle approach that values caring for myself."
